Darken Interior

I had already started cutting the frown out before I did this, that's why I also had to mask the inside of the frown.. (D'oh!)
I've seen that a few troopers take further measures to make sure that no one can see into their helmet.  I decided to use some black spray paint I had lying around.  Besides, I think a dark interior looks cool.

I started by carefully(so I thought) masking off the outside of each helmet piece.  I started with masking tape, but it didn't stick very well.  I then switched to a combination of electrical tape, masking tape, & newspaper..

Next I lugged the three pieces out to the garage, laid down some newspaper, & proceeded to paint them.  I didn't do a great job, but it's just the inside of the helmet.
After letting them dry for a few hours I brought them back in the house & carefully unwrapped them.  I did a pretty good job of masking them, but there were still some dark spots along the raised portions/edges of the helmet.  There were also some colored marks, so perhaps it was ink from the paper?
Here's an example of one of the spots left on the armor after painting it.  The second shot shows the same spot after only a few seconds with the dremel & a polishing tip. Note that I've highlighted the mark.

I left the rest of the marks for now, because I AM going to be a Sandtrooper afterall!
