Upper Torso

Update: 04/29/20005 Riveting the straps in place.

We will NOT used the included Velcro to permanently attach the shoulder straps to the chest & back armor.  Instead, we WILL use it to test fit the pieces together.
For instance, I'm not sure if the straps should be straight, or follow the direction of the chest/back pieces.
Snap to attach shoulder bells I took strips of the ABS sign I purchased to reinforce the shoulder straps & to attach the snaps to.  For my test run this will be attached to the chest/back armor via white, IS Velcro.  I intend to rivet this eventually.
elastic to hold upper torso tight The chest/back pieces are "IS" Velcro'd together with the provided elastic.  This assures you that nice, tight look.
Allign straps While the "IS" Velcro worked well while trooping, it always seemed to come loose during storage.  Besides, it looked a little bulky to me.  I decided to go ahead & rivet the straps to the upper torso pieces.
Allign straps I started by triple-checking the fit & roughly marking the spots with some tape.
Drill holes in straps for rivets Next I used my Dremel to make holes in the straps for the rivets.
Straps & chest piece drilled in preparation for rivets Next I marked the chest & back so that I could drill those holes out as well.
Straps attached with rivets Then I riveted everything in place(use a washer!).  I'll have to  put some hot glue over the inside of the rivets, because they DIG into you.  And don't forget to use some whiteout on the top of armor if you don't use white rivets.
