| The Sandtroopers' armor features a different knee plate,
sometimes called a sniper plate, than regular Stormtroopers.
It's basically a diamond shape & here are some tutorials on how to
add one to your armor. As always, expect more pictures once I get my
armor & build one for myself.

The source through which I got my ab &
hand-plates threw in a knee-plate for free, so I guess I don't have to
make one! Here you can see how much smaller than the standard FX
knee this is. |

And here I've just temporarily attached the
new knee to the shin so you can get an idea of what the final product will
look like. |

After doing some research, I became unhappy
with the "freebie" sniper-knee that I received. Instead, I
decided to use the tutorials above to make my own(more authentic) plate.
Using an ABS parking sign I bought at Lowes, I taped the templates on
& scored it carefully with the help of a straight ruler. |

The pieces snapped out pretty easily, but
required some cleaning up after glueing them together. |

I decided to use "IS" Velcro
because I want to play around with the placement for a while, & I like
the slight angle that it provided me. |

The colors match up pretty nicely, now all
that's left is to dirty EVERYTHING
up. |
