You'll need some additional tools to complete your armor in addition to what
comes with the kit:
Rotary tool / Dremel
While not a necessity, it will be sure to make life
easier. It can be used for:
Cutting out the frown
Cutting the ab/butt pieces
Trimming/sanding down pieces
Polishing armor
Hacking blasters/props
Spray Paint
You will need some gray paint(that matches the gray of the
decals) to paint the thermal detonator/O2 tank.
In addition, I will use this to spray the "frown" section of
the helmet instead of just using the decals.
I might also buy some black to coat the inside of the helmet to make it
nice & dark inside.
Rivet gun & rivets
The consensus seems to be that the provided Velcro is
garbage & that you should find other means of assembling the
armor. Along with snaps, I will use rivets in the stead of glue/Velcro.
Snaps & pliers
As with the rivets, these will be used instead of Velcro for
stronger yet removable attachment of armor.
Hot glue gun
The ABS cement provided with the kit will PERMANENTLY bond
the pieces together & scar the pieces if you're not careful.
Where possible I will use my new, mini hot-glue gun to affix pieces of
the armor.
Sceen Patch Kit
After it cutout the black portion of the helmet's frown, I
will place some sort of black screen beneath it. Other's have used
screen door patch kits, which can be purchased for less than $5.
Shelf Liner
This foam shelf liner will be used to help loose armor
pieces fit more snugly. It's very soft & thin enough(and the
right color) to go virtually unnoticed.
Small Clamps
This package of 22 small clamps was purchased at Mendard's
for less than $10.
